Do These Go with My Wrinkles?

In recent years, I find myself at fashion crossroads. I wouldn't say I am the most daring when it comes to fashion. But I certainly like to try new things and keep up with the trends. However, at 31, some trends are unfortunately just too young for me (or too old for me, but that is separate topic). Most of the time, it doesn't bother me. However, sometimes, I'll come across a cute shirt or dress and have to walk away...and if I don't, Laura and Tina would make me. =(

So I envy young people who get to wear that cute shirt or dress that I can't wear. Dangit! I look back at when I was a teenager, living in a time when baggy clothes, body suits, and chunky shoes were in. Nowadays, clothes are more colorful, flirty, and fitted, a complete turnaround. Clothes are so much more fun than they used to be. Too bad I'm too old to join in the fun.

Below are a list of things I would totally wear if I were younger:

Bright Plaid
Colored Leggings
Funky Rain Boots
Cut Off Gloves
Jumper
Chunky Cocktail Rings
Sequins

I know what you are thinking--I should just try them. But I'm chicken sh*t! Are there any trends out there that you like and wish you can pull off? If so, we should try them together!

I can't say I feel the same way because at 14 I'm not too old to wear these clothes but I can say I totally love the pictures, especially the colored leggings!
Thanks for sharing!
Love, Malou.

We're the same age, and I can completely relate!
There are some really fun style blogs out there for 30-somethings. Do you read http://haveacuteday.blogspot.com/? It's a blog run by sisters, too. :)

P.S. No one ever, anywhere, for any reason should wear jumpers. Ever. For any reason.
Do you remember Three's Company? Yeah. Exactly.

Uh-oh. I think I've purchased 3 out of the 7 things you've posted. I think I'm regressing over here in Hawaii. :op

And NO you do not have wrinkles...yet.

Malou--Rub it in why don't you! Haha! Then you have no excuse to not go crazy with fashion. =)

Sarah--I'll check out that blog. And jumpers are cool!! Haha.

Ness--So which of the three is it?? Lemme guess...funky rain boots, sequins and plaid. Am I right? Those are the three that I may change my mind about. Tehe. Not sure.

Laura--Sometimes I envy that you can pull off plaid and stuff like that no problem. Imma hater.

Sorry Tara, I have to agree with Sarah on the jumpers. Plus what a bitch when you have to use the bathroom.

I've got 4 years on you, and I will admit I have the bright plaid, want the funky rainboats, have the chunky rings, and have some tops with sequins.

I debated the leggings trend, but I can't go back to them. I can't go back to belting tops either. I just did way too much of that in the 80s and had to leave it there.

hahaha! I have ALL of those things in my closet! Actually, I don't. My closet is pretty boring compared to these pictures! I need to buy some new cute clothes!

Maybe instead of spending my "Kitty sitting" money on toaster strudels and magazines, I should buy clothes!
