But It's Too Early to Battle!

After snoozing the alarm for the hundredth time, I finally forced myself up this morning. I was brushing my teeth with my eyes half open. That was when I saw it...a fly. At first, it seemed I had imagined it as it disappeared as quickly as it came. Then suddenly, the fly came at my head, and I ducked to get out of its way. With its first attack, the fly had waged a war...one I intended to win. I stood in my bedroom against my dresser...as still as possible. I was waiting...waiting for it to fall into my trap. I had my rolled up magazine at the ready. However, the witty little thing flew from behind me and disappeared. It was toying with me. I knew it. I stood with my back against the door, so it could not sneak attack me again. My eyes zoomed around the room looking for it. "Where are you fly?" I said. The anticipation was unnerving. Sweat dripped down my forehead. There it was again. Then it was gone. The ever elusive fly. I decided to change strategy. I slowly walked to the hallway with caution. I plastered myself against the wall in wait. Suddenly, it was there. It came at my head again. The next second, it flew into the hallway bathroom. I quickly closed the door and locked myself in with the fly. Now it was just me and the fly mano a mano. Finally it landed on the mirror. I swatted at it and missed. The fly was now frantically flying in circles to get away. I knew it was not going to land, so I swatted at it in the air...missing several times. I was working off of pure adrenaline at this point. After several more attempts, I hit it...and it fell to the ground by the door. It was injured and writhing in pain. I got my magazine and smashed down on the spot the fly had been, thinking it was over and done. When I picked up the magazine, it wasn't there! I screamed "Why won't you die fly!?" I figured that the fly had escaped under the crack of the door. I opened the door, and the fly was on the other side attempting to escape. I got a tissue and squashed that motherf&*%er! I won the battle!! Then I took a shower, got dressed and headed to work. The End.

Yeah, true story.

Late Night Turns into the Crappiest Day Ever

I traveled out to LA for work on Monday. I was up early around 5am, so I had a pretty full day. I had also planned to meet up with a friend that night for a few drinks. I was thinking I'll meet him at 7p and be in bed by 9pm. I had an early flight the next morning and had to wake up at 4a. So that was probably the smart plan, right? Well, it didn't turn out quite that way.

When I met up with my friend, I was already two martinis in and a bit "happy." I ordered two more drinks at the bar, both margaritas. Then my friend wanted to go to another bar. You can imagine I was very agreeable by this point. So we went and there I ordered a vodka tonic. By the time I got back to my hotel, I was dead tired and had to wake up in two hours. So I took what was basically a nap and headed to the airport. It was effing awful! Traveling while drunk/hungover...not good. I felt crappy all day! I still haven't fully recovered.

What the hell was I thinking? I'm not young anymore. I don't have the quick recovery time I had in my twenties. A few years ago, it would have been nothing. Now a late night ruins my whole week. I noticed a few changes after I hit 30 (truthfully even before that). But it's not just clicking knees and back pain, now I've discovered I can't hold my liquor as well as I used to. Take my youthful good looks but not my propensity for vodka! Cheers to that!

What I Loved and Didn't Love About Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Unlike Laura, I liked every one of the Harry Potter movies. However, I totally agree with her that Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was the best...by far. See her earlier post. The movie was like how I imagined it and more. The other Harry Potter movies changed too much of the book, but I felt like the 6th one was more true to the book. During the movie, I was thinking "I can't wait to watch this again." Afterwards, I couldn't shut up about how awesome it was. Oh, I have a new favorite character too. I heart Slughorn! But I still love Bellatrix Lestrange who I fell in love with from the last Harry Potter movie.

[Spoilers Ahead]

Likes (more like loves):
10. The exchange between Harry and Professor Flitwick in the beginning--"No exceptions...Potter!" Haha!
9. The actor who plays Dumbledore was really good in this one. I didn't really like him in the other movies.
8. The scene with the unbreakable vow
7. Ron under a love spell
6. I loved the scenes between Harry and Hermione. They are really two true friends.
5. The scene where Harry was force feeding Dumbledore the water. I wanted to cry!
4. Ron at the Quidditch try-outs. Haha!
3. Slughorn
2. Harry on liquid luck--he was like buzzed or something. So hilarious.
1. I just loved everything about the scene where Dumbledore and Harry go to get the horcrux in the cave...starting from the scene where they are standing at the top of a huge rock surrounded by tidal waves and ending with the fiery escape. It was how I imagined it in my head but better.

Update 7/31/09: I totally remembered two more likes. One, Luna Lovegood. I did not fully appreciate her in the last movie, which was regrettable and will be fixed after I watch the 5th movie again. I liked the parts where she found Harry on the train and when she went to Slughorn's holiday party with Harry--her only two big scenes actually. Hehe. Two, I loved sleeping Dumbledore in the painting at the end of the movie! Awesome detail!

Dislikes:
10. No Dursleys
9. Draco Malfoy was meh...
8. Seductive Ginny. Laura pointed this out in her post.
7. Harry hitting on the waitress in the beginning--random, out of character and pointless.
6. Harry was supposed to figure out what Malfoy was up to.
5. No Defense Against the Dark Arts classes. Snape finally gets the job he has coveted most, but the movie didn't really make a big deal about it.
4. The Burrow burning down--that never happened.
3. Wizards using the wands like guns! Come on! The fight scene between Harry and Malfoy was ridiculous. They have to speak their spells.
2. Deatheaters cannot fly!
1. They took out the fight scene from the end. Like Tina pointed out to me, there was no point to the Deatheaters coming through the vanishing cabinet.

Thursday's SYTYCD Results Show

There were two OMG moments on tonight's episode of So You Think You Can Dance. First, Katie Holmes was on as a guest...she was to sing and dance on the show. It was hyped up for weeks. Sorry, but who friggin' cares? What is the big deal about her? And why would I want to see her dance or sing? My God! She is awful! She has a flat personality and was really boring during her interview. Also, I would not call what she did, singing or dancing...it is more like walking around the stage faking "sexy" and lip-syncing a recording of her own terrible voice. (I am so mean.) Also, nothing she did was even live on the show. She just ruined the episode.

Then came the most shocking moment ever. Janette was eliminated tonight! Cry!! I kept saying OMG, OMG, OMG after Cat announced it! I can't believe it. She was the most talented female dancer there. Nigel said it best, "America got it wrong." She is pretty much awesome and should have won the whole thing. I think she was in complete shock and didn't even know what the hell happened. This is the most upset I've ever been about a SYTYCD elimination. Janette had the talent and personality and was perfect every week. She deserved to be in the finale. It just won't be the same without her.

Also, Brandon was in the bottom two?!?! What?!? That was also bewilding...I said this "word" at the end of the show, and my husband was quick to correct me. But I was so tongue-tied that I couldn't even speak right!

Inkspell

On the recommendation of Laura, I read Inkheart. See her earlier post. I think she kinda oversold it for me. I was expecting something over the top awesome--excitement at every turn and fantasy beyond anything I've ever read. Well, it was more subtle than that...meaning it was a bit slow. Tina didn't even get through it. Sorry, Laura. However, I did finish Inkheart and had already bought the sequel, Inkspell. I always need a book on hand because I travel quite a bit for work. So I said what the hey, I'm already invested in the trilogy.

Inkspell was a lot more exciting and interesting than the first book. A lot more is happening, and the characters actually go to another world. I love that in a book...take me somewhere I've never been. That's why I love Harry Potter and Twilight. I get a glimpse of a world different from my own. My world is boring without magic, mythical creatures, castles and wizards. Yeah, it sucks! Haha.

[Spoiler Ahead!]
A year has passed since Inkheart, and Meggie and her family are content with their life. However, it is soon spoiled when someone from their past shows up with a plan to enter the book. Meggie had become obsessed with Inkheart and wanted to go to Inkworld. Soon they find themselves in the book. However, the world is not like how it was written and instead has changed for the worse. With Meggie's talent with the spoken word, they have to find their happy ending. Also, there is a major cliffhanger at the end. So of course, I must read Inkdeath. It's a fun trilogy if you are looking for a fantastical book about interesting characters with a unique story.

He's Just Not That Into You

I watched the movie, He's Just Not That Into You, and damn was it depressing. I even felt insecure for a second after watching it, and I am married!! Is that how the dating scene is nowadays? I am just curious...and am glad to have no part of it. I have no patience for drama and games, which I am guessing dating is all about, right? Keep in mind that I have no basis for that statement whatsoever.

Even though the premise of the movie was somewhat depressing, it had its charms. And you got some happy endings, if not all, despite the title of the movie. I got some insights too. Well, of course, number one, he's just not that into you...really. Number two, someone is to blame for women's insecurities and craziness. Based on the movie, it is the fault of their endlessly encouraging mothers and girlfriends who won't just tell them the cold hard truth. They are to blame for giving a poor woman hope based entirely on nothing at all...on some story about a random girl who is usually a friend of a friend of a friend who got her happy ending--love, marriage, kids. Like the movie said, she is the exception, not the rule. We are the rule; you are the rule. Get it? I don't know if I agree with that, but I thought it was clever and funny. Well, that's all I've got. Yeah, the movie really wasn't that insightful.

My Daughter, the Aspiring Artist

My daughter wants to be an artist when she grows up. When Laura draws a picture, Carmen draws the exact same picture a minute later. She's even adopted Laura's signature swirly eye. The funny thing is when I went to Carmen's friend's house, I saw a drawing her friend did with a swirly eye. It's become an epidemic, I tell you. Well, I'm not discouraging her, even though I secretly wish she'll be a doctor. Now I know how parents feel 'cause I am a parent. Here she made some clay characters. Laura made the dog, but she painted it, and the blue guy is all her.

She was also inspired by Laura's "The Love Story of a Spoon." If you don't remember, it was Laura's stop motion picture she made for school. Check it out if you haven't seen it. Here is Carmen's own little video she made that we call "Where's my dog?"

The Big Bang Theory

The Big Bang Theory is a show about nerds for nerds, wanna-be nerds and closet nerds. Tara gave me the first season on DVD and said watch it. I went into it not know anything about the show. I didn't even know it was a sitcom, but it was surprisingly good and a completely different idea. Who knew nerds could be so interesting? I just love how they talk, and the best thing of all is that I can actually understand them. It makes me feel smart. I knew I was a genius.

The show is centered around these two 20-something nerds who are both physicists with M.D.'s, Ph.D.'s, you name it they've got it. Leonard seems the most normal and he's in love with their neighbor, Penny, who lives across the hall. And Sheldon...he has idiosyncrasies that make him hilarious. He hates people, likes orderliness, has narcissistic tendencies, and thinks he's smarter than everybody else. Note: The actor, Jim Parsons, is nominated for an Emmy for his role as Sheldon.

Quotes from the show:
Penny
: I’m a Sagittarius, which probably tells you way more than you need to know.
Sheldon: Yes, it tells us that you participate in the mass cultural delusion that the sun’s apparent position relative to arbitrarily defined constellations at the time of your birth somehow affects your personality.

Sheldon:
You have to check your messages, Leonard! Leaving a message is one-half of a social contract, which is completed by the checking of the message. If that contract breaks down, then all social contracts break down and we descend into anarchy.
Leonard: It must be hell inside your head.
Sheldon: At times.

This show is worth watching or TiVoing. Does anybody have TiVo anymore? I don't know. Well, whatever. You could be like me and watch it on DVD. Just give it a chance. Mondays 9:30pm on CBS.

WTF Moment

This past weekend, we 3 sisters enjoyed a rare girls' day out. Basically, that just means we didn't have the little ones with us. We decided to shop and go to the beach. Tina actually bought some stuff...poor girl never gets to go shopping. However, she just can't get away from the color green--it's her favorite. Laura and I are trying to get her to branch out. Slowly but surely, I guess. After that we had an early dinner and set off to the beach. The day was going great. At the beach, Laura waded in the water while we watched from the shore. (It was ice cold...brrrr...) We huddled together on beach towels and chatted about random stuff, made fun of each other, and just enjoyed the company...the usual. Then Laura wanted to find the perfect shell for her boyfriend. So we went searching. Then the grossest thing happened to me...ever!! I stepped in something while walking. It was something mushy and got right between my toes. I was wiggling them to get whatever it was out. When that didn't work, I used my fingers. And found out it was gum!! I started squealing uncontrollably.

Some...people...are...just...so...disgusting!! How can you spit out gum at the beach?!? People walk barefoot there! It was recently chewed, so it was incredibly sticky and hard to get out. I had to walk around with some leftover gum residue between my toes all night until I got home. That was in someone else's mouth...chewed up and spittle-y. Yuck!!

I have stepped on too much gum in my life. (But never barefoot until yesterday.) So you people out there who leave your gum just anywhere...someone always steps in it. And somehow it always ends up being me! Be kind, please keep that in mind. Thank you.

Coach Maggie Collection

Meet Maggie, my bag.

I am the type who uses one handbag for every day and every occasion. And I use it for a long, long time until it is either worn out or I am sick of it. I usually go for the casual and plain styles, so it will always match my outfit and work in any season. A few years ago, I bought my first bag from Coach. It was brown and had the Cs all over it. I really liked it at the time. Then recently, I decided I didn't like brown anymore and am more into black and gray. Laura held her tongue when she started noticing that I never ever matched my bag. Hehe. So I finally went shopping for a new one. But damn I didn't realize how expensive designer bags can be. (Yeah, I know nothing about brands or designers.) I set $500 as my budget, and it was still way too low. I wanted to try another brand since Coach is so overdone these days. However, after seeing obscenely pricey bags after another, I found myself back at Coach. Laura was helping me pick one out and found a gray Maggie for me. It was under my budget, different from my old one...and it was gray. I love gray. It is nice and big, so I can fit anything and everything in it. I do have a few complaints though. The leather is too thick, so it can get kinda heavy at times. Also, the two straps are wide and thick, so one always slips off my shoulder. Otherwise, my Maggie is just right.

Hippos, Hippos, Hippos!

I recently took my daughters to the local aquarium and one of our favorite attractions are the hippos. They are so adorable and so enormous. Interesting fact: Hippos are so big and heavy (up to 3.5 tons) that they are able to walk underwater at the bottoms of lakes and rivers. They can also only have one offspring. But be forewarned! Although hippos look so cute and approachable, they are actually extremely dangerous. So if you ever find yourself in the rivers of Sub-Saharan Africa, DO NOT approach these animals! But if you find you and a hippo between five inches of glass, enjoy these wonderful animals!

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

So last night at midnight, it was opening night for the new Harry Potter movie! I was pretty excited. We weren't able to watch it in IMAX, because it comes out June 29th. So we settled for watching it in a regular theater.

In the past, I've judged the Harry Potter films pretty harshly, I'd have to say. I just stand by the fact that the books are better. Other than that, this movie changed my opinion of the Harry Potter films. It's the best one by far. The graphics were great and the acting was great. (Yes, it took 6 films for the actors to learn to act, but they achieved it eventually!)

(Spoiler Alert!)
However, in my mind, there are two major parts of the film that were done slightly differently, and changed the feel of that particular scene:
1. The scene where Ginny kisses Harry was done completely differently. In the book, Harry sees Ginny and just walks right up to her and "snogs" her. In the movie, Ginny and Harry are in the Room of Requirement to hide The Half Blood Prince's potions book so no one can find it again. Ginny tells him to close his eyes and she kisses him and then disappears. I like the way the book had it more, because Harry seems a little gutless and Ginny seems way too seductive for my taste.
2. There is a small difference in the end scene where Dumbledore is killed. In the book, it takes place in Dumbledore's office and Harry is hiding behind a curtain. Harry is unable to save Dumbledore, because he had placed a binding curse on Harry. In the movie, Harry is a floor below, and nothing stops him from saving Dumbledore besides his promise to Dumbledore that he would not act. Again, the movie makes Harry seem like a pansy.

Other than these scenes, some things in the film were too downplayed compared to the book. Take the fight between Ron and Hermoine for example. In the book, these two screamed at each other and wouldn't speak for ages. But in the movie, Hermoine seems to be the only one angry and Ron seems clueless.

But all in all, I loved the movie. A lot of the scenes amazed me, because it was like it was taken right out of my imagination!

I give it 4.8 stars!

Blindness

I saw Blindness this past weekend and didn't know what to think of it. I wasn't sure if I liked it or hated it. So I wasn't going to blog about it at first, but I'll tell you why I am in a little bit. Blindness is about a mysterious and sudden epidemic where those infected experience white blindness. The first victim explained it as swimming in milk. The condition was infectious and spread through contact. The world went into a panic and quickly quarantined anyone who was affected. The first few who were quarantined included an ophthalmologist and his wife (played by Mark Ruffalo and Julianne Moore); however, the doctor's wife was not infected but chose to stay with her husband. They along with several other blind people were put in a building, separated by wards, without any help and left to their own devices. Within a few days, living conditions and hygiene degrade dramatically and horrifically, and they quickly lose their civility without their sight. Conditions worsen due to the lack of food, care and organization. The doctor's wife try her best to help but reaches a breaking point.

[Spoiler Alert!] Soon, someone from Ward 3 crowns himself King. (This is where it reminds me of Lord of the Flies) He somehow obtains a gun and wields it to get his way. He and his crew hoard all the food supply for Ward 3 and demand compensation for food. After money and valuables run out, he demands women as compensation. Faced with starvation, they don't have a choice but to succumb to the lunatic's whims. This is where I started to get angry as the TV and then at Moore's character for doing nothing. The women were helpless against these monsters, and it sickened me. The particular scene was brutal, graphic and violent. This is probably where it lost a lot of people, including me.

Then I learned more about the movie and the book upon which it is based, and I think I get it--that's why I am blogging about it. Blindness is based on a book of the same name written by José Saramago. The theme of his book is spiritual blindness. Blindness serves as a metaphor for human nature's dark side like prejudice, selfishness, violence and willful indifference. It can also be considered an allegory about the fragility of civilization, which is closer to my initial interpretation. Furthermore, the character of the doctor's wife is important because she is the only one who can see. However, she is still blind in her own way--refusing to act until she is forced to. The screenwriter said that he asked the author about the wife's failure to act and got the response: "She became aware of the responsibility that comes with seeing gradually, first to herself, then to her husband, then to her small 'family,' then her ward, and finally to the world where she has to create a new civilization." That makes sense because it could not have been easy living in those conditions and also being the only one who could see.

After getting over that, I started to appreciate the uniqueness of the story, the way the movie captured the characters and this idea of spiritual blindness, and the artistic interpretation of the book. It also forced me to take a hard look at society and the goodness (and badness) of people. So I guess I hate it a little less. Perhaps I changed Tina and Laura's minds about it because they really disliked it. You just have to see past the not so pleasant parts.

Hot Dogs

Today while walking in the city, I saw a dog left in the car with the window opened a crack. The temperature outside was over 80 degrees. And I don't even want to think about how hot it was in that car. Dog owners do this time and time again. People don't realize that leaving your dog in a hot car for even a few minutes is really dangerous. The temperature in the car rises exponentially and becomes like an oven. In just a few short minutes, the temperature inside the car can reach as much as 40 degrees above the temperature outside. It is even worse when the car is sitting in the sun like the one I saw today. Poor poor doggie.

Furthermore, dogs overheat more quickly than humans because they have fur and don't sweat. Dogs cool off by panting or blowing out heat, which is actually less effective. I also don't think people realize that there are also laws against leaving dogs in the car in hot weather. So this is a warning for you ignorant pet owners. Please think before you bring your dog outside in hot weather. And think twice about leaving your dog in the car during the summer. It is animal cruelty.

Cake Boss

Cake Boss is TLC's equivalent to Ace of Cakes. TLC definitely needed a good show since Jon and Kate Plus Eight was sinking fast, and I think they found it. Cake Boss features an Italian baker named Buddy who owns, runs and works at his family-owned bake shop in Hoboken, New Jersey. I actually think this show may be better than Ace of Cakes. For one, Cake Boss has more drama, which is always entertaining. Buddy is the boss, but he also works with his family. So that is a recipe for trouble. (Nice pun, eh?) In one episode, Buddy and his crew had completed a Sweet Sixteen cake that had taken days. His delivery boys were moving the cake from the second floor to the van. Then next thing you know the cake is tumbling down the stairs. The delivery boys and Buddy's reaction was priceless. After yelling for a few minutes, Buddy got crackin' and redid the same cake in only an hour and a half. That was impressive. Despite these episodes, at the end of the day, Buddy loves the people he works with. I mean, they are family. It is an interesting dynamic. Furthermore, Cake Boss does more than just cakes. Buddy's bake shop makes other traditional Italian baked goods. And they look delicious. Also, what surprised me is that Buddy can also make more modern cakes...similar to the cakes you see on Ace of Cakes.

These kinds of shows make me wish I could do that. See my earlier post, and you'll know what I mean. I even told Laura that she should be a cake maker. Haha! She has the artistic talent to do it. Plus she has the funky style to make the more modern cakes that people nowadays would love and appreciate. I think it is a great idea (although she totally wrote it off when I suggested it). And I can live vicariously through her. Isn't that what young siblings and children are for? ;)

Old Movie Marathon

Last night at 10:30p, I started my own movie marathon. (Yes, I was very tired this morning.) I have always wanted to look back at older movies that I have never seen or haven't seen in a while. Of course, I hadn't planned on a marathon on a weeknight and certainly not when I started either. I was flipping through the movie channels and started off in the middle of True Romance with Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette. It came out in 1993 when Christian Slater was actually a bigger star than Brad Pitt who played a random pot head in the movie. Pretty funny. I have to say that Patricia Arquette was great in it. Then I moved on to The Terminator, a 1984 movie. I don't remember a thing from it, so it was like new to me. Linda Hamilton's hair and clothes were hilarious, and the effects were funny.

After that, it was getting late, sometime around midnight. My husband had already fallen asleep by this point. I was about to go to bed, but I flipped through and saw a movie with Mickey Rourke called 9 1/2 Weeks. I just wanted to see what he looked like when he was younger. Really! For the first ten minutes, I was waiting for him to come on screen. All I saw was Kim Basinger and this really hot guy. Then I realized that hot guy was Mickey Rourke. I had no idea! Then I finished the entire movie. Ahh! I finally went to bed at 1am.

I could not get over how hot both Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke were back then. If you didn't know, Mickey Rourke recently came back into the spotlight because of his role in The Wrestler with Marisa Tomei. He looks completely different, and it is apparent that he had some plastic surgery done. I was curious about what happened, so I looked it up today. In the 1990s, he went into boxing for a few years. He received many injuries, especially to his face. Supposedly, his plastic surgeon didn't do a great job reconstructing his face. After he went back into acting in the mid-90s, everyone said he was unrecognizable. That is a shame because he used to be so cute.

My impromptu movie marathon was really fun. I think everyone should do an old movie marathon. I would totally do it again, but next time I'll actually watch each of the movies from the beginning and at a reasonable hour.

Wonton Noodle Soup

Last year I added wonton noodle soup to my recipe pile. Yeah, that's how I organize my recipes. It is literally a stack of papers in my book shelf under my turtle tank. Usually they are recipes that I find on the internet that I print out. Also, I write down my tweaks or substitutions right on the paper. It is a great system! I tried making wonton noodle soup when I was on my Chinese food kick. This recipe tastes exactly like the kind I eat at restaurants. And it is really easy to make. I don't usually make really complicated things anyway. =)

The best part is that you can make a lot of wontons at one time and save them for later. I usually make about 50 wontons and freeze them. It is the best on lazy nights when I don't feel like cooking. Plus they are yummy. See the picture...it is a actual picture if you were wondering.

Ingredients:
1/2 lb. ground pork
4 ounces peeled raw shrimp, finely chopped
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon Chinese rice wine (optional)
1 tablespoon light soy sauce
2 tablespoon finely chopped green onion
1 teaspoon chopped fresh ginger root
24 (3.5 inch square) wonton wrappers
Egg noodle (follow directions on the package)

Directions:
1. In a large bowl, combine pork, shrimp, sugar, wine, soy sauce, green onions and ginger. Blend well, and let stand for 25 minutes.
2. Place about one teaspoon of the filling at the center of each wonton skin. Moisten all four edges of wonton wrapper with water, then pull the top corner down to the bottom, folding the wrapper over the filling to make a triangle. Press edges firmly to remove air and seal. Bring left and right corners together above the filling. Overlap the tips of these corners, moisten with water and press together.
3. FOR SOUP: Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil. Drop wontons in, and cook for 5 minutes for freshly made wontons or 6 minutes for frozen wontons. In the serving bowl, mix salt, soy sauce, sesame oil and the boiled water to your liking. Then add wontons and noodles. Garnish with green onions.

Role Models

I saw Role Models written by and starring Paul Rudd. He is so funny. I don't get why it took him so long to finally break out. That being said, the movie was okay...sorta funny. I am blogging about it because of its funny quotes. Part of the movie is about some nerdy kid who participates in live action role playing (LARP). It is like dungeons and dragons but in real life. People dress up in costumes and engage in a similated war. In the movie, these people are so into LARP that they talk kinda funny...like they do in the medieval times. The people of LARP often make sexual innuendos without even knowing it. I have to admit that I giggled every time. Hehe. The funny thing was Paul's reaction to them. He was always the only one who noticed. Hilarious.

Worst Things Said in a Job Interview

So when I log onto AIM, a website called AIM Dashboard pops up that has celebrity news, random tidbits, etc. I often read it, because it's kind of like an online magazine. Well I found an article titled "43 Worst Things Said in a Job Interview." Some of them were pretty hilarious so I thought I'd share them with you.

When have you demonstrated leadership skills?
- "Well my best example would be in the world of online video gaming. I pretty much run the show; it takes a lot to do that."- Rachel Croce

Is there anything else I should know about you?
- "You should probably know I mud wrestle on the weekends."- Venne

When can you start?
- "I need to check with my mom on that one." - Bolzan

Any Questions?

Bunny Theater

I found the most random and awesome thing on Starz! It's bunny theater where cartoon bunnies reenact a popular movie in 30 seconds. Actually, I saw my first bunny movie a while back, the Pirates of the Carribean. I remember thinking "what the hell was that? That was friggin' awesome!" You will probably have the same reaction when you watch the clips. They are funny too. I didn't find them again until recently.

I'll include a couple of my favorites here. Of course that would include Twilight!

Kill Bill is pretty awesome too. Check it out.

You can find more clips here. Laura and Carmen love bunnies, so I am not the only weird one. Hehe.
